Concert Band:
(ages 9-adult) is
composed of beginning through advanced instrumental students and meets
for one hour each week. There are three levels, and only the level
II-III bands require auditions to join. Whether students are just
getting started with their "band" instrument, or they have several
years of experience, we have a group for them!
Jazz Band:
(ages 10-adult) is composed
of mid-intermediate through advanced instrumental students selected by
audition to meet for one hour each week. There are three levels, and
the level I training band is perfect for those who are younger and
have less musical experience. Students perform a variety of
challenging but fun music and are exposed to the terminology and
techniques of the jazz language. Each year, students in the level
II-III bands compose at least one score as a group to perform at the
Spring Recitals.
Students are also encouraged to bring in their own original pieces to
try out in class! The jazz band performs regularly for various
occasions.
Youth
Orchestra:
(ages 9-adult)
is composed of advanced instrumental students chosen by audition to
meet for one hour each week. These students master orchestral
compositions for various performances: recitals, contests, and
community service. |
