Summer 2008 :: Sessions / Themes:
(All Classes held at the Mandeville School of Music)

Sign & Sing, "Sign Language Class" (for children 6mos. - 3 yrs.)

- $240 (includes tuition and home materials)


Classes begin May 29 & June 2, 2008! (No classes July 3 or July 21-31). Classes resume August 4.

- Overview: This is a 10 week child and parent camp. Each class is 60 minutes. Through songs, toys, and loving playtime between you and your child, Kindermusik Sign & Sing shows you more than 50 signs your child can use to communicate with you. Using research-proven methods shown to speed language development in hearing children, you'll see how sign language can ease frustration and enhance long-term learning abilities for your child. Class size is limited to 12 children. Minimum of 6 needed.

- Home Materials included are: one Family Activity Guide, one DVD glossary showing 60 signs, one set of clip-on flashcards that feature both children and adults using family friendly American sign language signs.

Adventures, "Creatures in My Backyard/Creatures in the Ocean"- (18 mos. - 3 yrs.)

Classes begin May 29 & June 2, 2008! (No classes July 3 or July 21-31). Classes resume August 4.

- Overview: Children and parents/caregivers participate in 10 one-hour lessons. Through music, movement, storytelling, and instrument exploration, your child will uncover the creatures living in the backyard and ocean. Be the flower from the "seed's perspective." Run and jump in rain puddles made from hula hoops. Snack on whole wheat mini-waffles dipped in honey, just like a real honeycomb. Shoo real flies and sing "Shoo Fly." Sing sailor songs and make the ocean count. "Five little seashells lying on the shore: Swish! Went the waves and then there were four." Make homemade kites and your own fish sandwiches using fish-shaped bread and P.B. and J. Class size is limited to 12 children. Minimum of 6 needed.

Family Time, "Our Kind of Day" (for children of all ages)

- $230 (one/first child) & $160 (per additional child) (includes 10 class sessions & supplies).

- Classes begin May 27 and meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:30 PM. No class July 1.

- Overview: This is a 10 week class. Each class meets for one hour each week. This brand new class is designed to apply musical and developmental learning in a multi-age, multi-child, family environment. Parents with children of various ages or with one child spend time together, doing one activity as a family. The little ones watch the older ones and learn from them.

- Home Materials included are: Each set includes one hand and finger puppet, two literature book: Flip-Flap, Sugar Snap and Jingle-Jangle Jambourine, 42-page activity book, Game Board, Two CDs, two Jambourine Instruments.
