Featuring 10 beautiful and spacious music and dance studios and two large performance halls, we proudly offer a diverse range of instrumental music and dance programs for kids, teens, and adults at beginning through advanced levels. All of our music lessons and dance classes are held within our brand new spacious, family friendly, commerical school building, and nationwide background checks are performed on all of our Faculty during the hiring process. Parents and fellow students may also monitor the classes at any time by sitting in on the lesson or simply watching through the glass windows available in each of our studios.
About our Music & Dance Teachers:
We have the most qualified, university degreed teaching faculty in New Orleans. Our Faculty are professional musicians and dancers who permanently reside, teach, and perform in NOLA and are proud to offer music lessons and dance classes at LAAPA. All of our Faculty members must maintain the highest of teaching standards and come to us from top music and dance schools from around the world. Unlike many other music schools and out of state teaching services in New Orleans, we don't just hire any musician or dancer that can play well or dabbles in teaching music or dance on the side out of their apartment or home. We believe that the art of teaching - music and dance pedagogy - is an entirely different skill set. Not all performers, musicians, and dancers will necessarily make the best teachers simply because they are amazing performers. The ability to break down complex subjects into smaller, comprehensible "nuggets" of information that students of all ages can process is a rare talent; these are the faculty members we are proud to work with at LAAPA. The Academy Directors regularly evaluate each instructor to personally ensure that he/she is providing our students with a top notch education in music and dance.
Our students also have a number of performance opportunities throughout the year to get up on stage in a professional auditorium and share their progress with family and friends during our school recitals. Watch some of our music students perform below!
