ABOUT OUR IN PERSON MUSIC & DANCE PROGRAM

LAAPA is resuming in person lessons at all 3 campuses beginning June 3 as follows: All Pre-ballet, Ballet I, Hip Hop I, Preschool music, students under age 7, students with special needs and those who are unable to attend online. All remaining students are expected to be invited back sometime mid-June, early July.

Additionally, our summer Music and Dance camps will be held as previously scheduled all 4 weeks this July. All current students and new students are welcome to continue online lessons as long as they would like, however we want to make everyone aware of the actions we are taking on campus to ensure the safety and health of our Parents, Students, Faculty, and Staff:
    • All employees to receive daily temperature checks
    • Students and faculty to sanitize hands upon arrival and faculty after each lesson
    • Hand sanitizer in each studio
    • All Faculty and Staff have been issued masks
    • Students and parents are encouraged to wear masks but not required
    • Social distancing in each studio observed to fullest extent possible in each studio and class
    • All academy equipment touched to be fully sanitized after each student's use
    • Our lobby, bottled water, and coffee services will remain temporarily closed. Parents will be able to observe all lessons and classes via Zoom since the lobby will be temporarily closed.
    • Our copier systems will temporarily be unavailable to faculty and students.
    • Staff disinfecting bathrooms throughout each day
    • Summer camp enrollment capped at 20 students per week ensuring 200 ft2 of overall campus space per student with small groups.
As with all of our programs, Lessons are conducted by our local, Greater New Orleans based faculty who strive to make each lesson fun and inspirational. Our teachers are all selected for the abilities as educators first who love working with students from brand new beginners - advanced levels. Our goal is for students of all ages - kids, teens, and adults to feel right at home and fully engaged during each lesson!

LEARN MORE ABOUT CAMP

ABOUT OUR ONLINE PROGRAM

We offer lessons to students ages 5 & up on piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, drums, violin, cello, woodwinds, brass, ballet, hip hop, tap, musical theater and more! We can help you from wherever you are as long as you have an internet connection and a smart phone, tablet or a laptop with a web camera.
Lessons are conducted live by the same friendly, local professionals you'll find on campus. Get instant feedback on your playing, dancing, or singing. Get immediate answers to your questions and learn as if the teacher was in the room with you.
Our online students are also welcome to attend their lessons in person at with their same teacher whenever they choose!
You'll meet online with your teacher each week via the Zoom application. You'll join a meeting ID that we provide to you and be greeted by our staff at the virtual front desk. Our staff will then place you in a secure private studio with your teacher. Zoom works with iPhone, Android, desktops, laptops and tablets. You can learn from anywhere with an Internet connection including the comfort of your own home.

DO I NEED AN INSTRUMENT / DANCE ATTIRE?

For our in-person students, we provide pianos, drumsets and guitar amps. We recommend renting or purchasing a keyboard, piano, or snare drum/drum set when possible for practicing at home. For our online students, you will need a beginning level instrument at home for your music lessons and to practice! All dancers (whether in person or online) must dress in appropriate class attire. We can help recommend affordable options for everything both in stores and online. Just let us know if you need assistance!
