LAAPA's Theatre Department is pleased to announce auditions for our 2025 Fall Northshore Mainstage, "Puffs" this January under the direction of Mr. Curtis Billings!
An original comedy by New York–based playwright Matt Cox, the play is a parody of the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling, but from the perspective of the "Puffs": that is, members of the Hogwarts house, Hufflepuff. Across seven increasingly eventful years at a “Certain School of Magic and Magic,” the Puffs try to find their place in a world full of dangerous spells, mysterious adventures, and one very famous boy wizard. This youth edition keeps all the laughs and heart of the original but with age-appropriate language and content, making it perfect for student performers and audiences of all ages. At its core, Puffs celebrates friendship, bravery, and the magic of being yourself—even if you’re not the hero of the story.
