About LAAPA Dance Co.

The LAAPA Dance Co.'s mission is to collaborate, create, perform, and inspire! The company presents original choreography at community events two times per year, performs in LAAPAfest, and has a featured showcase during each Summer Recital.

Company members receive professional performance training and discover the ins and outs of all facets of the dance world (classical, commercial, etc.) They learn how to think critically and creatively, and are encouraged to step out into their own artistry through one on one mentorship with the company director.

LAAPA Dance Co. members rehearse Saturdays 1-2:30pm in PH-A, with a required contemporary warm-up class from 12-1pm.

Member Eligibility

Company members are at level II dance technique and up.

Company members exhibit a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and maintain regular class attendance

Membership for all students in LAAPA Dance Co. is by invitation from your Dance Instructor with approval by the Coordinator of Dance Studies or by audition during one of the regular company classes.

Member Requirements

Members must take a minimum of three classes per week including company rehearsal

There is a required “warm up” contemporary class on Saturdays from 12-1pm before company rehearsal, which can meet the contemporary class requirement for the week.

Company Member Tuition

LAAPA Dance Co. tuition starts at $175/month plus a one time $50 company membership fee which includes 4 classes weekly as follows:

Dance Company - 90 mins weekly

Student Choice Classes - 3 weekly

LAAPAFEST Participation (all members will prepare a solo for a panel of 3 judges)

Eight 30 minute private lessons in preparation for LAAPAFEST

Community Performances outside of the Recital (TBA)

Professional Photo shoot day

Professional Video shoot day

LAAPA Dance Co. tuition for 4 classes weekly is $230/month plus a one time $50 company membership fee which includes:

Dance Company - 90 mins weekly

Student Choice Classes - 4 weekly

LAAPAFEST Participation (all members will prepare a solo for a panel of 3 judges)

Eight 30 minute private lessons in preparation for LAAPAFEST

Community Performances outside of the Recital (TBA)

Will There Be Any Competitions?

LAAPA Dance Co. is a non-competitive dance company with the primary focus of education and performance.
